The starting point
When we ran the initial audit in early 2025, the practice had the common profile of a technically invisible business: a website that existed but wasn't doing any real work.
- ✗Google Business Profile had been auto-created by Google with the wrong address. It had never been claimed.
- ✗The website had 5 pages, no structured data, and a Core Web Vitals score that put it in the bottom 20% for healthcare sites.
- ✗Two directory listings existed — Doctoralia and a local business directory — both with slightly different address formats, undermining citation consistency.
- ✗Zero content targeting the specific searches potential patients were making ("psicólogo ansiedad Madrid", "terapia cognitivo conductual Chamberí", etc.).
- ✗Organic traffic: 165 sessions/month, almost entirely branded (people who already knew the name).
- ✗Monthly enquiries from organic search: 1–2.
What we did
The engagement started on the Foundation package and moved to Growth at month 3 as the foundation work completed and content became the primary lever.
Months 1–2
Technical foundation
- →Claimed and fully rebuilt the Google Business Profile — correct category (Psychologist), complete service list, 14 genuine interior and exterior photos, complete business description.
- →Fixed 4 critical technical issues: missing canonical tags causing duplicate indexing, slow server response time, uncompressed images, and a broken sitemap that was excluding 2 service pages.
- →Standardised NAP across all existing directory listings and submitted to 10 priority directories (Doctoralia, TopDoctors, Páginas Amarillas, Tuotromedico, Yelp España, and the Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos de Madrid).
- →Added structured data (LocalBusiness, MedicalBusiness) to the homepage and contact page.
Months 3–6
Content and local visibility
- →Published 4 long-form articles targeting specific patient search queries: anxiety therapy, CBT for adults, what to expect from first therapy session, and how to choose a psychologist in Madrid.
- →Built a dedicated Chamberí neighbourhood page optimised for "psicólogo Chamberí" and related searches.
- →Introduced weekly Google Posts to keep the GBP profile active and signal fresh content to Google.
- →Developed a comfortable post-treatment review request approach — within LOPD constraints — resulting in 18 new Google reviews over 4 months.
Months 7–12
Compounding authority
- →Published 4 more articles targeting longer-tail queries with high commercial intent (cost of therapy, how long therapy takes, online vs in-person therapy Madrid).
- →Built 2 additional neighbourhood pages (Almagro and Malasaña, adjacent districts within search proximity).
- →Analysed competitor backlink profiles and secured 6 contextual links from psychology resource sites and a university department psychology directory.
- →Monitored and responded to all 31 GBP reviews; improved average rating from 4.2 to 4.8.
